Celebrating World Standards Day

Once again, we organized a new event in the framework of World Standards Day, a date that pays tribute to the commitment of all the experts who develop international technical standards.

On this occasion, the event was held virtually through the YouTube platform. Thus, based on the subject “Post-pandemic standards. Their contribution to the economic and social agenda“, the meeting focused on how the environment, governance and inclusion are pillars of sustainable development.

The event was developed as a space for dialogue, moderated by the well-known journalist Federico Seeber, together with leading figures in the fields of standardization and industry: Martin Rapetti, Director of the Master in Economics at the Faculty of Economic Sciences – Universidad de Buenos Aires; Javier Goñi, CEO of Ledesma; Daniel Afione, Regional Director of Government Affairs of Toyota Latin America and the Caribbean, and Leticia Aguiar, Legal & Compliance of Scienza Uruguay.

The closing remarks were made by Sergio Mujica, ISO Secretary General, and Raúl Amil, President of IRAM, who emphasized: “It is necessary to continue raising awareness of the importance of standardization for the development of the country. IRAM’s purpose is to add value to organizations, to make people’s lives safer“.
